Shining a spotlight on the world’s brightest design talent, the creative community joined in a celebration of the industry’s most revered designers and makers! The winners of this year’s SBID International Design Awards for 2022 were revealed on 21st October at the luxurious InterContinental Park Lane, celebrating the past year of industry excellence across the interior design profession!
Spanning the categories of Interior Design, Product Design and Fit-Out, this year’s SBID Award winners represent the past year of the most creative, innovative, and forward-thinking design. JL STUDIO are thrilled to announce they among the top-tier global design talent to receive an award its entry, ROUGH project in the Residential Apartment Under £1M category.
The Rough project is a successful combination of cosiness, wildness and uniqueness, rough textures and comfort, ancient building and modern furniture. Things that we meet in nature, but don’t meet in our flats, are playing the role of art objects. Therefore they are not perceived as something catchy and don’t turn the apartment into a lifeless museum space. At the same time, such interior elements reflect the bright personality of the owners and create an atmosphere of peace and warmth.
The space is divided into two levels and united by a common sloping ceiling with skylight windows.
The first floor is a space for daily activities and receiving guests. The second floor is the private call of the owners, space for rest, sleep and relaxation in the bathroom.
The finalists were assessed by an outstanding panel of leading design A&D professionals, paying special attention to the technical content, aesthetic creativity and fit-for-purpose design and functionality. The esteemed international jury featured President of Wanda Hotels and Resorts, Senior Vice President of Burberry, Creative Director of Casa Forma, Past President of American Academy of Healthcare Interior Designers, Head of Brunel Design at Brunel University London, alongside many more distinguished experts of industry.
The SBID International Design Awards attracts entries from over 85 countries worldwide, serving to recognise, reward and celebrate design excellence across Interior Design, Product Design and Fit-Out. Showcasing the world’s best design talent on its globally respected stage each year, the SBID Awards champions and challenges design standards - a parallel it shares with its exceptional entrants. Winning a SBID International Design Award signifies an outstanding industry achievement, with recognition that is second to none for the deserving winners.
